Financial Goals

TOTAL GOAL: $6,000,000 RAISED: $4,800,000

To address space and programming limitations, 19,000 square feet of new, state-of-the-art facilities has been built. This new construction forms a connected, campus quadrangle with green space in the center.

The New Facility Includes:

• Two Large Educational Classrooms – double the educational space.
• Expanded Game Rooms – double the space to more than 2,500 square feet.
• Large Community Room/Fellowship Hall – accommodations for large group meetings and programs.
• Drama Room – dedicated space for drama will allow us to keep the gym open during performances.
• Two Multipurpose Rooms – accommodations for small groups, arts and crafts and leadership training.
• State-of-the-art Kitchen – accommodations for more children for cooking classes and better service for events in the community room/fellowship hall.
• Safety and Accessibility – enhanced safety, plus handicapped and overall accessibility of all program facilities, by connecting all buildings with internal walkways.

Equipment, Furnishings & Upgrades – $400,000

• Repairs/Upgrades – $110,000: Paint and trim, plumbing repairs, carpet replacements, removal of old steam pipes, roof replacement, porch repairs and more.
• Technology – $45,500: Computer hardware and software (particularly for our educational program) and an upgraded telephone system.
• Van Replacement – $90,000: Replacement of three vans used to transport children to field trips, athletic competitions, camp and other activities.
• Furnishings – $154,500: Tables, chairs, desks, lighting and props for drama, classroom furniture and a security system.

Renovations and Improvements – $ 1,500,000
To address current limitations, all facilities renovated to include appropriate handicap access ramps, an elevator, handicap restrooms and other accommodations to make programs, regardless of where they are on site, accessible to people with disabilities.

• Gymnasium – A partitioning wall, expanded restrooms, new gym floor and acoustical treatments to reduce noise.
• Other Renovations – Current spaces renovated for more appropriate program use.

The Result

As a result of The Room To Grow Project to fund these projects, the following will be achieved:

• More than 1,000 children, youth and parents who are served by The Patch each year will have safer, more updated spaces in which to participate.
• More children and youth will be able to participate in programs as a result of the increased program space available.
• Children participating in educational programs will have more space and an environment that is more conducive to learning.
• An increased number of students will be able to participate more frequently in drama, leadership training, small group activities, arts and crafts and cooking classes as a result of new space dedicated to these activities.
• Traffic flow and safety in the gym and other areas will be greatly improved as a result of renovations.
• Children and adults with physical limitations will be able to participate more fully in Cabbage Patch activities as a result of greatly improved handicap access.
• Large assemblies with guest speakers, as well as luncheons, dinners and large group activities, will occur more often as a result of the new community room/fellowship hall.
