Approximately 100 members of the community joined us at The Cabbage Patch for a Building Blessing on Sunday, August 30. (We wanted our new space to be covered in words of blessing and hope for the children at The Patch before we add the final touches to our new buildings.)
During the open house guests wrote their prayers, a scripture, or "grace-full" words on the unfinished walls and wood studs.
A highlight of the brief formal program was when Meadow, a Patch participant, played the guitar (learned at The Cabbage Patch) and led the group in singing "Prince of Peace."
Rev. Tracy Holladay, executive director, noted that the facility expansion is wrapping up as The Cabbage Patch kicks off a yearlong celebration of its 100th year of service. The blessings will be recorded and remind us that this is a sacred space for all who will enter The Cabbage Patch during its next 100 years.
