The Patch Bids Farewell to Harold Hawkins

Posted by on Dec 9, 2014 in Stories from The Patch

In a bittersweet farewell, The Patch family celebrated Senior Manager of Finance and Accounting Harold Hawkins with a retirement luncheon on December 9. Harold’s family and coworkers, along with friends of The Patch like Commonwealth Bank and Trust, The Glenview Trust Company, Hilliard Lyons Trust Company and PNC Institutional Investment were in attendance to applaud Harold’s guidance over the last 12 years.

In recognition of Harold’s commitment to the ministry of The Cabbage Patch, The Cabbage Patch Board of Directors has established the Harold Hawkins Overall Mission Support Endowment.

The Cabbage Patch Board President Walt Kunau presents Harold Hawkins with The Patch’s guiding principles in commemoration of the new Harold Hawkins Overall Mission Support Endowment Fund.

Harold demonstrated the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) every day in his interactions with everyone he encountered, along with a strong work ethic and professional skills. Harold believed that lives can be profoundly changed when children could see the Gospel lived out before them (unconditional love and grace) and they are given a variety of opportunities to discover who God created them to be.

Harold will be at The Patch training his successor until December 31. Cards or donations can be sent to us at 1413 S. 6th St., Louisville, KY, 40208. We will miss Harold, but wish him all the best in this new stage of life!
