The Cabbage Patch is beginning the New Year with a new financial management system, and a new senior manager of finance and accounting! Because we are not a Metro United Way agency and do not solicit government funding, we depend on donors like you to provide life-changing programs to at-risk youth. For more than 106 years, the organization has maintained high standards of transparency and responsibility and we are excited to modernize the way we maximize our resources!
In late 2015, The Patch received a grant from the Community Foundation of Louisville to purchase new financial management software that will improve our efficiency in fiscal management. Annually, over 1,100 donors give over $1,100,000 to as many as 50 different operating and endowment funds to make our programs possible. We are now better maximizing our assets, both in terms of staff time and revenue. In 2016, we welcomed new Senior Manager of Finance and Accounting David Reilly, who brings an impressive depth of experience to The Patch. He is a licensed CPA and brings nearly 20 years of accounting and information technology experience. His background ranges from multi-national corporations to local non-profits.

The children and families served at The Cabbage Patch don’t see our financial management software. What they do see is a world of opportunities open to them because of The Patch’s generous donors. A child who can’t afford art supplies can learn to paint in our art room. A low income teenager with college aspirations can earn a scholarship in our College Scholars Program. A parent who is drowning in utility bills can receive assistance and case management. Children and families can depend on the services at The Cabbage Patch because our responsible financial management ensures consistent, high quality programming. We are thrilled to have David on board implementing the new financial software!
